It’s hard to get into reading again after being in depressions and I am looking for something profound and meaningful, as my head is craving for knowledge, “wisdom” and calmness. I’ve read a lot of books in 2022 and started to lose more and more interest in reading in 2023. I really loved *Siddhartha* by Hesse, *Around the World in Eighty Days* by Vernes, *Tao Te Ching* by Lao Tzu or *Meditations* by Marcus Aurelius or movies like Call me by Your Name (I haven’t read the book) or Wolf Children.
I’m not religious, but somehow Philosophy and books like Siddharta offered something I’ve never felt before. It really does not have to be these specific topics again, but I hope with these titles I expressed, what I couldn’t explain with words… it’s a weird longing I am not able to lay out in my head.
I’d really appreciate any recommendation! Thank you!

You could try Ishmael by Daniel Quinn
Try Albert Camus
The dawn of everything: a new history of humanity. It genuinely changed how i look at humanity in all its diversity and potential, and i look at life around me differently since i read it.
Alternatively, and something completely different, Hogfather. A fantasy story about the meaning of being human. Taking place on the discworld, a flat world resting on the back of four elephants standing on the back of a turtle, and with main character Death (you know, bony guy with a scythe ), but no less serious or profound
*Crime and Punishment* does a fine job of getting into you and never leaving.
The Little Prince
