I’ve just reread the Throne of Glass series and it was as amazing as it always is to me, but now I have an empty literary hole in my heart that no book can seem to fill right now. Everytime I read through a new fantasy book, I just end up disappointed because the world-building isn’t epic, the characters aren’t compelling, or the style just seems very amateur. I’ve lost some of my passion for reading and I really want to get back into it without just rereading ToG. :,)

honestly, I haven’t found a book series that has me as obsessed about the characters as ToG…
relatively similar:
* Six of Crows (the one I actually find similar, love the atmosphere, characters & plot)
* ACOTAR (not like ToG but SJM does have a way to make you care about characters)
less similar:
* Hidden Legacy by Ilona Andrews (more love story than in ToG and UF but I love it)
* Harry Potter (I know, I know…but the characters have my heart)
I’ve heard that Sabriel by Garth Nix was an inspiration for ToG so it’s probably similar
Graceling might be another one – I only read book 1, liked it but never continued so cannot really comment
there’s a throneofglass subreddit which has recs too
