    (Please do not shame me.)

I first read the Twilight series when I was in middle school. Now, I’m in my late 20s and reread all of them this last year and continue to be just as obsessed. I love the vibe and aesthetic of the series. I love the darkness, moodiness, nostalgia, and overall intense feelings. I’m obsessed with the little details in the books, but also the movies, like the town of Forks, Bella’s comforter, the hue of the movies. I appreciate that it is technically fantasy, but very intertwined with real life.

I want a book that makes me feel the similarly. Yes, I’ve read the Hunger Games series, but that’s a different obsession.

it is a light horror book, but the first time i read [**Follow Me To Ground** by Sue Rainsford](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/52220595-follow-me-to-ground?ac=1&from_search=true&qid=Bt3oB85u6H&rank=1) i got major **Twilight** vibes.

***A haunted, surreal debut novel about an otherworldly young woman, her father, and her lover that culminates in a shocking moment of betrayal – one that upends our understanding of power, predation, and agency.***

this book is INCREDIBLY strange. one of the weirdest an most unique plots i’ve ever read in a book. i don’t want to spoil anything, but if you choose to read this (it’s just over 200 pages), you’ll see the **Twilight** similarities/why it immediately reminded me of the movie. i wasn’t sure i even liked it when i first read it, bu i couldn’t stop thinking about it, bought it in hard copy and re-read it and bumped it up an extra star. i want to do a third re-read sometime soon.
