I’m not looking about books that deal with addiction, if that makes sense. This situation is basically me right now, I was a super shy teen, and grew into myself a little and dabbled in raves and psychedelics to test it out. I grew as a person and feel that I’m just done with that, and have no long-lasting regrets. I’m just about the slow life now. And I would love so much to see where I am in life right now reflected in the literature I read. Thank you so much 🙂

My books have a bit of all that… set from 1989 acid house explosion in UK
it’s not the main story, but it does play a fairly significant part in [**Revival** by Stephen King](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/20926278) as the main character grows up and plays in a rock and roll band across the country and becomes addicted to heroin which leads to significant events further along in the story.
i’m not a SK fan but i gave this one 4 stars and it has one of the best and most bleak and hopeless and HOLY SHIT endings of any book i’ve ever read.
Parts of a Visit From The Goon Squad (which is excellent anyway) kind of deal with this! Also Modern Lovers by Emma Straub
Daisy Jones and the Six I thought was a blast and a pretty quick read
Extremely wacky (you’ll love if you’re in a bit of a punk phase) – Destroy All Monsters by Jeff Jackson
Nonfiction: Meet Me in The Bathroom – Lizzie Goodman, Just Kids – Patti Smith
