I finished Alexander Solzhenitsyn’s “One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich” and “Gulag Archipelago” about the Soviet GULAG system under Stalin. Currently reading Anatoly Marchenko’s “My Testimony” about life in the Soviet prison system in the 1960s and 70s. Both authors have a very autobiographical style of writing.
Can anyone make a similar genre recommendation based out of the US prison system?
