I recently gotten myself into a Cosmic/Sci-fi horror genre ( I say recently, but I’m dislexic, so reading takes some time).
I stumbled upon “All Tomorrows” during the quarantine and it was perfect. Mainly because that absolute dread and helplessness of the humanity to do anything about the invasion deep dive into the biology and history of humanities descendants, the ending, which was not a “win” for the victims, yet still a triumph of perseverance of the humanity, I fell absolutely in love.
So I fell a bit into a rabbit hole, and tried to find that feeling again. I read “Blindsight” and “Echopraxia” by Peter Watts( if you didn’t read it, I highly recommend it),”I have no mouth and I must scream”(I snuck in there “No longer human”, because it was on sale, hehe) and now, I’m looking for more.
I love the feeling of uneasiness of the vast void of space and the timelessness of it, the eventual run in with the technology/race so advanced, you can’t defeat it, or reason with it, just simply be at it’s grace. It’s a hard feeling to describe(at least for me)
I tried to find some similar books, but without much luck. Could you guys maybe guide me a bit, either where to look or give me some titles?
Thank you!
