Like the title says, I’m looking for Sci-Fi/Science Fantasy/Space Opera novels that feel adventurous! I don’t really enjoy political stories like Dune or other stories that have a heavy focus on politics.

I’m open to big conflicts but I’m also not the biggest fan of massive intergalactic wars. I’m not against them, but… I guess I’m more into the scale of conflict of something like treasure planet than something like Dune or some parts of Star Wars for that matter.

I do like Star Wars but when it’s mostly focused on the MCs, but I’m not so interested in it when it goes into the politics of the empire or the rebels/republic or what not. Idk if knowing that might help you give me a better recommendation.

I’m also not a fan of having a massive cast, and much prefer to have smaller casts where I can easily begin to care for the characters and have that more personal “connection” to them.

Tropes I like are crews that become best friends (guardians of the galaxy or final space), melee fights both armed or unarmed (Star Wars or Captain Marvel to a certain extent), space battles to a certain extent, traveling to different planets, adventurous vibes (like treasure planet), something, could be an accident, could be an object, could be many other things, that gives certain characters powers (Star Wars & captain marvel), I like firefights as well (guardians of the galaxy, treasure planet, Star Wars, etc), and space pirates or evil military forces (Star Wars, treasure planet & guardians of the galaxy)

Other things I like to broaden the horizon of recommendations is horror, so monsters, lovecraftian entities and creepy aliens are great with me. The story doesn’t need to have these but if your recommendation has them, I’m up for it 🙂

I also like fast paced books that grab you and never let you go!

I know I listed guardians of the galaxy as something I like, but I’m not looking for very comedic novels. I prefer them to be a bit more serious. I don’t mind some comedy at all, but I don’t want the story to be an action-comedy either, like in guardians of the galaxy. Some comedy is good, but a focus in comedy isn’t what I’m looking for.

I’m also open to LGBT+ characters, specially gay men and gay male romances (it isn’t a must, but if your recommendation has them, it’s a bonus).

I would prefer the story to be “adult” but don’t mind if it’s YA as long as it’s really good YA.

I also like emotional scenes that make you want to cry but in general, I do love a happy ending, or a bitter sweet ending at most.

That’s it! I hope what I wrote can help you give me some good recommendations! Thank you very much in advance to anyone who answers!
