Just finished Homo Deus by Yuval Noah Harari and fiction wise I’m almost at the end of ‘Walkaway’ by Cory Doctorow – but I’m still thirsty for more. A stint on Wikipedia has given me a few others to read – if anyone can recommend anything with a weirder title than ‘Great mambo chicken and the trans human condition’ I’ll be amazed!
Ideally I’d like it written in the last decade, but up for anything with interesting ideas about how it’s all gonna turn out, how terrified we should be or, what kind of utopian fantasy future generations could end up with.
Non fiction preferred but fiction where the political/societal themes are well thought out would also be appreciated. Thanks 🙂

“Accelerando” by Charles Stosd is a novel about the near future, the accelerating rate of technological advance. It deals with the idea of future shock and where humans fit into a post-singularity universe. It’s fast-paced and leaves you with the feeling of being out of breath and left behind.
It was available as a free ebook to download, but I’m not sure if it still is.
Max Tegmark’s **Life 3.0** offers the current (i.e., 2107) thinking on the spectrum of futures mankind is facing due to the ascent of artificial intelligence.
