I am looking for a fun book to listen to for a long car ride with my husband. We both enjoy reading a lot of different genres! I am feeling like something that is generally positive, heartfelt, engaging, and maybe even funny.
I usually love the light rom/com type books. We both liked books by Emily Henry like Beach Read and Christina Lauren’s Unhoneymooners.
He reads everything but often goes for narrative nonfiction.
Some examples of books across different genres we enjoyed:
– Harry Potter series (my hook book as a kid and we listened together on a car trip!)
-Emily Henry, Christina Lauren, Ali Hazelwood, Katherine center Rom/com type books-especially with fun upbeat banter
-Fredrick Backman-Man Called Ove, Beartown
-Sally Rooney-Normal People
-HF like All The Light We Cannot See
-House on the Cerulean Sea
-nonfiction like Breath:the new science to a lost art
-SJ Maas series
-iron flame books
Random but I think of the YA lit book Angus Thongs and Full Frontal snogging or the book Eleanor oliphant is Completely Fine and I think about the heartfelt funniness of the characters. The reader having a bigger clearer picture than the narrator of a situation.
We’re also the parents of young kids so open to books with that theme or even nonfiction like Raising Good Humans with general advice
