Hi guys I’m looking for some good Urban Fantasy books. Some books that I have liked which I would say count as Urban Fantasy are:
– The Dresden Files (one of my favourite series of books)
– Monster Hunter International (it was okay I liked it enough)
– Anything Lovecraft
As a kid I really loved:
– The Darren Shan Saga
– The Demonata
– The Percy Jackson books
– The Skullduggery Pleasant books
These are probably what created my love for the Urban Fantasy setting so much early in life.
Further context. I’ve been running TTRPGs since I was 14 (I’m now 27 so for a long time) and have always been super passionate about Old World of Darkness (my favorite being Vampire the Masquerade V20 but I also love Werewolf the Apocalypse, Mage the Ascension, and Changeling the Dreaming).
I don’t care about popularity, just quality of storytelling and I’m a super genre generalist when it comes to reading so not really bothered if it branches out into other genres also.
I’m fine with picking up any indie published books or whatever also.
I do have a major thing about characters and I’m a majorly character driven reader, not too bothered about plot (I love The First Law books, which are the definition of character driven. The Blade Itself barely even has a plot and I loved it).
No audiobook recommendations. Sorry, I just can’t get on with them. I like to read myself.
Hit me up with the recommendations!
