I really want to read The Generalissimo’s son by Jay Taylor but a physical copy is over $100 and a kindle version is $65. I have no idea why the author has several other books that aren’t nearly as expensive and are older books that haven’t been in print longer. I’ve checked my local library and they don’t have it either. Yes I know pirating exists and I can get a copy that way but I prefer physical copies of books.

You could see if your library can get a copy on interlibrary loan [from one of these libraries](https://search.worldcat.org/en/title/43708530).
You can also check eBay.
Thriftbooks has an ex-library copy of this as well, also $65. Appears to be a textbook or scholarly work, which is probably why the price remains high.

Internet Archive is a good resource for long out of print titles. Looks like they have it:

Try interlibrary loan at your local library. May take a week or two, but it’s amazing the things you can get. All you need is the title and author generally.
