I (28F) was diagnosed at an early age with ADHD and struggled really hard to sit down and read when I was growing up. I have a hard time visualizing stories (and I didn’t have the patience to sit down for a while), so I gravitated towards visual mediums like movies, tv, and live theatre early on. I do want to read more but I want something that’s manageable to read and not too emotionally taxing at the end of a long work day.
Also yes, I have been suggested audiobooks as a way to help combat something like this, I am looking more for specific books that are easier to process. I have also enjoyed graphic novels and manga but I’m not as interested in those mediums at the moment.

Check out “The Hail Mary Project” by Andy Weir.
Hello fellow ADHD haver. I have found things that funny typically work for me. I just started the Discworld series and I’ve been enjoying it. It’s Lord of the rings meets Month Python. But comedies is what I lean towards.
You don’t have to like Discworld, but I would recommend finding what you like in other types of media then it will be easier.
that’s funny cause for me my adhd makes me do the opposite 😂 i’m good at sitting down to read and visualizing stories in my head but i’m not good with audiobooks since my mind always trails off to something else
