Hello everyone! Nice to meet you all. I’ve been trying to incursion into the formal/professional translation field for the last two months without any success. I acknowledge that my CV is lacking compared to other people on the field, but doing the same thing over and over is going to end up demotivating me. To build a better portfolio, that just consists of a few documents, I want to translate a few short novels or anthologies; those books must be from the public domain, and should have never been translated into Spanish before. Now, I chose to create a reddit account to ask for your literary opinion, so reddit-dwellers, what books do you recommend me? I’m open to all kind of genres, except romance, my heart of stone doesn’t enjoy romance at all.
I’m from Venezuela and Spanish is my native lenguage, if you must know.
