I am feeling intense brain rot and need something to actually use my brain like a book. I love mystery horror and science fiction. I also really want something that can get me hooked because the brain rot is lessening my attention span and I can’t focus. I need help please give suggestions.

    1. *The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo* is a good, mildly creepy, fast-paced, plot-driven mystery. It’s not nearly as long as it looks (the font and spacing is unnecessarily huge) and it really does work as a standalone, so don’t think you have to read the rest of the series.

I feel like I recommend it all the time, but *Ready Player One* by Ernest Cline is one of my absolute favorite books. The characters are all competing in a global treasure hunt, and if you know anything about 80s pop culture, you can kind of play the game with them. I read this as an audiobook while I walked and I literally walked an extra 2-3 miles every day when I was reading it, just because I could not put it down.
