Jesus christ… I just finished this book. Never saw the movie, never read the book when it was popular like over 10 years ago. But fuckin a the sheer amount of trauma in this book is unreal. Throwing people from trains to their death, abuse/negligence/death of animals and people, traumatic way August dies… and the main character being like “Yep! Best time of my life! Let’s do it again!”
I would be a ruined human being… even more than I already am lol. I know it’s just a fictitious novel, but in some aspect this shit actually happened or happens. It was a very difficult read for me to get through especially the animal abuse. Well written, but that trauma though…
