I liked it, but I didn’t love it—it falls more on the “conspiracy” mystery side of detective fiction rather than straight-up murder mystery, but if that’s your jam then I’d say go for it!
Without knowing your background, it’s hard to say whether the language would be too difficult—tracking some of the Russian names/nicknames can be a little tricky, but it’s certainly not as bad as some other Russian novels, haha.

I love Fandorin series, Akunin definitely knows how to write an interesting story. Not sure about vocabulary though, cause I’m Russian and I’ve read it in original.
