Just finished The Dog Stars, loved it. Station Eleven before that, also loved it. I think I’ve read all of the post apocalyptic books I’m going to like, Oryx and Crake, The Road, The Stand, Parable of the Sower. But if there’s a classic in there I’m missing please point that out to me. Anything with a survival element usually does it for me, The Wager for example.
I just started Mr. Penumbra’s 24-Hour Bookstore, and it’s not doing it for me, I just find the tone too playful and insincere. The characters don’t seem real.
