**I don’t actually think it makes sense to go back and downgrade your ratings for other books** haha, but have you ever read a book that was just so phenomenal across every dimension that it gave you that urge? To separate it as distinct and above even your other most beloved favorites?
When I finished reading *The Overstory* by Richard Powers, I felt this odd compulsion to go back and make (pretty much) all of my past 5-star reads 4.75 stars instead (shoutout StoryGraph for .25 increments) to account for the fact that this one outshone them all. Has anyone else had a moment like this with a book? One where you were just so blown away by how beautiful and compelling and meaningful it was that you felt like it needed some special rating above and beyond 5 stars?
I’ve read a number of lovely stories lately that I’ve really enjoyed, but I’d love a few recommendations for books that just blew you away with how utterly exceptional they were!

‘The Orphan Keeper’ by Camron Wright was one of those books for me. It’s a historical fiction based on a true story.
Loved The Overstory. One of my 5-star reads from last year. Have you read Greenwood by Michael Christie?
