Hi! My niece (12) likes scary stories but also has some reading delays/struggles. She knows I love to read and asked if I had anything she could borrow but everything would be too adult for her. Any suggestions for age appropriate or perhaps a little younger horror/scary stories I could pick up for her? She likes creepy more than mystery/whodunit. Thanks!

How about [The Jumbies](https://app.thestorygraph.com/books/135c742f-b3d4-479d-8dec-307ef78ec91b) by Tracey Baptiste?
The Samuel Johnson series by John Connolly is very spooky but intended for (upper) middle grade readers.
These are old and you may need to find them on eBay, but in the 90s, Bruce Coville edited a series of horror story anthologies, all starting with “Bruce Coville’s Book of…” They’re age appropriate, but also quite spooky and I still love reading them as an adult.
{{Wait Til Helen Comes by Mary Downing Hahn}}
{{The Dollhouse Murders by Betty Ren Wright}}
Here are some I liked when I was younger:
* [Weenies stories](https://www.goodreads.com/series/125740-weenies)
* [Darkness Creeping stories](https://www.goodreads.com/series/61540-darkness-creeping)
Holes Louis Sacher. Classic because it’s a great easy read.
