Hi all! I am looking for some non-fiction books that are either micro histories or science/nature oriented. Some books I have read lately to give an idea of what has been on my shelf are:
The Soul of an Octopus – Sy Montgomery
The Book of Eels – Patrik Svensson
About Time: A History of Civilization in Twelve Clocks – David Rooney
I appreciate any and all recommendations! Thanks!!

Would [How the Internet Happened](https://app.thestorygraph.com/books/5a3e1adf-6e50-4dc6-9dca-140e3fcadc81) by Brian McCullough fit?
Cod: A Biography of the Fish that Changed the World or Salt: A World History – both by Mark Kurlansky are great micro histories
The Tiger by John Vaillant – hard to categorise but covers history/thriller/environment. Have reread several times
The Age of Wonder by Richard Holmes meets your criteria
Say Nothing by Patrick Radden Keefe,
a microhistory of Troubles in Ireland
– Entangled Life
– Braiding Sweetgrass
– Crow Planet
– Beaks, Bones, and Bird Songs
