I’m curious to hear what people say about this because I’ve read that people read more books by writers of their own gender. I can say, though, that for whatever reason I’m the opposite. I’m a guy and I read much more by female writers than male. I don’t know why this is the case and it could just be coincidence, but I’m interested to hear people’s thoughts.

I’m female, and probably 90% of the books I read are by male authors. I like high stakes, action, sci-fi and progression fantasy. And I really don’t go for romance.
There are women in the genres I like who avoid romance and do high stakes, but few and far between.
