I’m thinking of gifting a book to an 11/12 year old boy who’s a strong reader (reading at 13-14 level right now). I once received a collectors edition of The Secret Garden at 10 years old, and have been in love with both the story and owning the actual book throughout my childhood. Is there a book like that for him?
Contextual info that might be helpful: His parents have been having problems with disciplining him (typical tweenager rebellion but in the moment definitely feels like he’s being a total brat), and instead of directly addressing it, I thought perhaps a book might inspire some positive changes (fiction or non fiction). For eg his parents would prefer it if he showed more general concern for his extended family members like grandparents and aunts; very often he ignores them, is disrespectful and/or rude.
