I just finished Things I Learned from Falling by Claire Nelson and thought it was just ok. I loved the parts that described her experience in the desert, but I personally feel like the story could have done without some of the details/anecdotes from her personal life. Now, I’m interested in reading a book that does mainly focus on the essence of survival and overcoming the odds.
For what it’s worth, I’m a woman in my 20s, so I’m open to anything that may be popular among my demographic. The only thing I’m not particularly interested in is war stories (maybe a POW story if there’s one that’s recommended up and down, but generally that’s not what I gravitate towards)

The boy and his dog at the end of the world by C. A. Fletcher. Another post apocalypse story but a lot less bleak than the wall.
