There are many different styles of reviews on Goodreads and I was wondering how you write your reviews and why?
I write mine as long-form written reviews. I mostly highlight the negatives, even if I have given a book a good rating in the aim to provide a balanced perspective. This probably gives people the impression I don’t like things as much as I actually do. Interested to see other perspectives though.

I make sure to fill my review with gifs, character quotes, a book report style plot recap, and lots of cutesy meta commentary about writing reviews. Overall I treat it like a creative writing exercise.
I keep it short and on point since I write them in english and it’s not my first language.
