books where the water/forest/etc is treacherous

I recently read A Study in Drowning by Ava Reid and I loved the setting where the water is this treacherous and ever present looming danger. I loved how it added to the suspense of the book. I also prefer it to be a fantasy nature setting and not a city or urban setting, but I’m open to recommendations for them as long as they have the same mystical and fantastical danger vibe. Like you know this place is dangerous but at the same time you’re drawn to it and can’t resist the pull.
