He hates reading until he has a great book! He just finished “Outsiders” which he loved. He rated it 4.5 out of 5. I’m trying to find books similar and my husband recommended “the body” by Stephen king (which is the movie stand by me). My sister warns the book is much more graphic than the movie. I’m curious what you think? And any other recommendations? Thanks!

It’s a wonderful story. It’s, I think, very geared to that age and someways, I read it as a late teen but found it incredibly accurate for that age. I’m not sure I think it’s graphic in a negative way as much as it is sad, it’s an adult looking back. It is a novella, you can always read it first, you certainly might want to be able to talk to him about it.
Has he seen the movie? It maybe watch the movie as a family, and if you and he think he’d like the book he can dive in next.
That way he’ll know the themes and kind of what to expect and if it’s more graphic he’ll feel comfy talking to you about how the book is different.
