There are a lot of books out there that I didn’t have a great time reading, as I’m sure other people can relate (hence why I’m so incredibly picky when it comes to books now haha). But I also think it’s good to find the positives in the negatives, if that’s possible with some of these books.. A Dowry Of Blood by S.T. Gibson is a retelling of Dracula from the perspective of Dracula’s 1st bride, Constana. I recommend this book to people who want to read about polyamorous vampires and a satisfying look at an individual finding the strength to break away from an abusive relationship – with occasional hints of some really lovely writing. Just don’t expect much depth, or character, and yes sometimes the writing does get annoying and painfully repetitive. Oh yeah, and try to ignore the incesty moments, if you can (I couldn’t). But, all in all, it could easily be a good time for someone who’s just looking for a very simplistic book about vampires, and despite its faults it’s definitely one of the better books to gain popularity off of TikTok trends, yes the bar is low. Also, I seem to be in the smaller group of people who didn’t enjoy the book, clearly it resonated far better with others, so it could be worth a shot if you think you’re the right person.

The Fountainhead is a comedic masterpiece when read as a exploration of how delusional a narcissistic egomaniac can be.
If you go in with the headcanon it’s told from the most unreliable of narrators you will piss yourself laughing.
If you don’t know who the author is it reads like satire anyway.
