Give me your best wild west recommendations. Nothing modern or speculative future. I want good ol’ rootin tootin shootin cowboys and the wide open planes.

I’ve just recently gotten good at reading novels but really my bread and butter is short stories and anthologies. I’m really looking for anything but a series, getting there.

My favorite genre is horror so I’d really enjoy some horror elements in the novel but as long as there is some level of terror and tension I can get with it. I’d like some level of romance but I definitely don’t want to read a romance novel. I really like stories to be thoughtful, multi-layered, and compelling.

I’m interested in diversity in writing as well so I’d love to read from an Indigenous and/or Mexican author first and foremost with an love for queer stories as well (not mandatory.)

Recently read: ***Monstrilio -*** Gerardo Samano Cordova, *Audition -* Ryu Murakami, *Jackal* \- Erin E. Adams, *Never Whistle at Night -* Shane Hawk, *Dark Water* \- Koji Suzuki.

Currently reading: *Holes* \- Louis Sachar (Can you tell why I want to read cowboys?), *Out There Screaming* Jordan Peele, *A Darker Shade of Noir -* Joyce Carol Oates, *Nightmares & Dreamscapes* Stephen King.
