I was wondering if there are books similar to Man in the high castle by Philip K Dick and Years of Salt and Rice by Kim Stanley Robinson that leans more towards SciFi or Speculative fiction rather than fantasy (i.e Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrel) . I am looking for something closer to the aforementioned examples (i.e What if Axis won WW2 and What if the plague wiped out most of Europe respectively) rather than something like Harry Turtledove’s The Guns of the South (What if the south had AK-47s during the civil war) .

What if JFK hadn’t been killed? 11/22/63 by Stephen King was pretty good.
You might like Bring the Jubilee by Ward Moore
The Yiddish Policemen’s Union
*Underground Airlines* by Ben Winters! It gets mixed reviews, but I personally really liked it.
Civilizations by Laurent Binet
Fatherland by Robert Harris
What if a disaster ruined the climate just as the space race got started and a bunch of women led the international community into space in the 60’s?
The Lady Astronauts by Mary Robinette Kowal might be exactly what you’re after. If you enjoyed AppleTV’s show For All Mankind then this is exactly what you’re after.
