I just started listening to Stephen King’s ‘The Institute’ and without going into any spoilers, the book starts off in a way I wasn’t anticipating. >!The opening character is somewhat of a Jack Reacher “drifter’ type personality where he wanders into a small town and joins a position in law enforcement by happenstance.!<
I’ll cut the rambling short and spare you any further details. I’m just looking for a similar story where a lowly drifter wanders into town and ruffles some feathers. If it has romance then even better!
