I just finished Stephen Fry’s Greek Myths trilogy. I’m excited to learn that his version of The Odyssey is coming out in October 2024.
In the mean time, are there are books in a similar vein that retell classic stories? Not necessarily an adaptation (like how “Clueless” is really “Emma”), but more of a new translation or a retelling, just like Fry’s books. Removing or explaining the esoterica and just telling a good classic story?
