    1. If you’re open to middle grade graphic novels, Roller Girl by Victoria Jamieson is excellent and very sports forward. About a girl discovering roller derby, learning to skate, and competing with a team.

    2. I was impressed with Jason Reynold’s series on running, considering I have no interest in sports and can’t image that being interesting, but they were quite good. Ghost is the first one, but each book focuses on a different kid so I don’t think they need to be read in any particular order.
