A few days ago, I was with a group of friends and per usual politics came up. At one point, one person asked if I would ever read this one famous book by the unfortunately famous mustache man. I said no. Then he said that it was very close minded on my part and that we should read books, written by people we politically disagree with, to have a proper perspective and understanding of their way of thinking. To this I answered that if I know a person is on the far opposite side to my political believes, I already know enough, in order to avoid reading more from them. Beyond educational purposes, I mostly read for entertainment and reading (in my opinion) bunch of BS adds nothing to my life, except maybe for a high blood pressure.
What is your take on this subject?
