Her older sister loves Harry Potter, and let her borrow the books as she’s fairly new to reading. She’d be an average reader for her age. Besides books, she loves Disney, Nintendo, Mario, plush toys, cars, and animals. So maybe there’s some books with these themes?
But definitely either another series like Harry Potter, or something funny and entertaining would be a good idea. Maybe a story that’s set in Ireland? Thanks.

Diana Wynne Jones’ Chrestomanci books are also about children discovering how to use their magic, but with fewer wars
