Crazy? Yes. But true!!
Both are told in the 3rd person omniscient perspective, because they are not the story of any one person–they are both the story of a system of interconnected powerful houses, vying for limited resources (whether that’s wedding invites, or spice, is up to the story)
And while Dune features a fight-to-the-death, for the prize of leadership and a wife… *China Rich Girlfriend* features the *prevention* of a dangerous drag race, between two competing suitors.
Clearly, a double-feature of watching Dune and Crazy Rich Asians, after a two-person book club of reading those two same books, is what is needed to unite the sexes.
