I’m an avid SF/speculative fiction reader but I’ve been extremely stressed and busy with work lately and am finding myself craving a satisfying escape. I’ve been reading *The Book of New Sun* by Gene Wolfe and enjoying it immensely, but it’s pretty dense and can be hard to parse through when I want to dial down my brain a bit and just get lost in a book. So I’m looking for something a bit easier to eat up that I don’t have to work so hard to get lost in.
Some of my favorite authors are LeGuin, Delany, Butler, Bradbury, Arthur C. Clarke, Calvino, Borges. (Though many of the books I’ve enjoyed from these writers have certainly been much loftier/denser than the type of books I’m seeking recs for here.)
I love love LOVED *Piranesi* by Susanna Clarke, so maybe something more along those lines. *Engine Summer* by John Crowley is also one of my top favorites.
Thank you!!!
