I am about to embark on a big holiday for the first time in several years and want to get prepared to find a new book series to get lost in.
My absolute favourite of all time is The Demon Cycle by Peter V Brett just for reference. (I’ve read it twice)
I read The Legend by David Gemmell. That was good.
I tried getting into the stormlight saga and after 1.5 booksfor some annoying reason I just lost fell out of love for the series. That is my problem not the book.
I love fantasy worlds that are built well and realistically (I know magic isn’t real but still)
And also have politics that make sense.
I feel a common trend is that some writers have absolutely incredible action scenes or world setup. But then it falls apart when there is no logic or world progression. I don’t want to sound nitpicky but that is a distraction for me.
I also don’t help myself as I struggle to follow a story when it starts splitting off with 3 or more settings happening simultaneously.
Please throw any ideas my way! I love to learn about any book series out there, old or new.

Peter Brett did an AMA here in /r/books [you might want to take a look](http://www.reddit.com/r/books/comments/39fjet/author_peter_v_brett_ama/?) 🙂 . [Here’s a full list of our upcoming AMAs](http://www.reddit.com/r/books/wiki/amafullschedule)
