I’ve been reading a lot of books written in third person, they are published by indie authors and I guess aren’t the typical definition of “good writing”.

They give off “and then…” vibes, the authors write outside of typical conventions by including text outside of what is important to the storyline.

These books are typically in the romance, fantasy and sci-fi genres.

Let me give you an example.

In a recent book, the author included how the FMC did a stock order for her bakery and commented on how she chose her supplier. Nope, the information wasn’t important but sometimes I just want a book like that on in the background so I can do housework and it’s nice to have someone doing inventory while I do the dishes. And it’s helpful for sleep, pop the audiobook on and I’ll nod off.

Anyway, is this style a thing?
