I like Sci Fi, Fantasy, but if it’s a good read I’ll read just about any fiction. I like nonfiction too, but it’s gotta be the right non-fiction. Throw some suggestions at me please, and I’ll see what sticks and hits home.
With more info, I could make a better recommendation but still. Maybe try “Vicious” by VE Schwab. It’s about two best friends, one of them ends up in jail, 10 year later he breaks out of prison and wants vengeance against his now ex-best friend. It is part of a great fantasy duology.

I’m going to accept the non-fiction challenge because I’m also primarily a fantasy/sci-fi reader.
– The Republic of Pirates: Being the True and Surprising Story of the Caribbean Pirates and the Man Who Brought Them Down by Colin Woodard
This is great because it reads more like a novel than a textbook. It also makes you appreciate pirates in fiction so much more.
– They Poured Fire on Us From the Sky by Alephonsion Deng
This is a tragic and inspiring story about children displaced by war. It’s gripping in the same way that a multiple POV fantasy hero’s journey is, but because it’s true accounts the stakes are exponentially higher. Their struggles are more gut wrenching and their accomplishments mean so much more.
– Born a Crime by Trevor Noah
The audiobook version of this is what convinced me that audiobooks were worth listening to. In my mind this book is tied for best use of the format along with Project Hail Mary. It’s totally worth picking up.
