My mom wasn’t able to learn how to read at a younger age in her country. Now she’s 50 and she still struggles to read, I want to get her a book that she can start to read on her own, that isn’t a children’s book. I’m trying to find her a book that has a simple enough vocabulary for her to read, but also decent enough content that she might enjoy. Thank you!

What genre do you think she would like? I used to read chick flicks for example, would that be an option?
