Help me find this book

There’s this book about a main character named Ethan, I can’t remember to much about this book but I do know the love interest of the book had a name like Lana or Larah. Also I do remember a main plot point where Ethan dies at the end of the series and had to do some stuff to get brought back to life, and he finds himself over this pool of water when all of a sudden a face floats up to the surface clearly rotted, and then many more do. They start trying to drag him in and he sees his father or grandfather I think in the pool, and it’s basically just all the people who have died in there.
