Oh my god is the book great, Ned Vizzini was, and still is, such an amazing author, and It’s Kind of a Funny Story is officially my comfort book. As a 15 year old boy who has not only been suicidal, but also in a psychiatric hospital, this book just really spoke to me.
I relate to Craig so much on pretty much every aspect. School stress, suicidal thoughts, the “Cycling”, the marijuana, just oh my god did this just hit home for me.
I’m glad that he had the chance to make this amazing book and I thank him with every fibre of my being. I’m now going to read one of his other books “Be More Chill”.
Rest in peace Ned Vizzini. 💚

Fyi, Be More Chill was adapted into a pretty good musical if you read that next.
