I used to love reading but as I got older and spend more time on my phone, I have a lot of trouble keeping my attention at reading a book. But since I’ve picked up the mina lima harry potter books I started reading again and want to make it part of my life again. But because I haven’t read many books in so long I don’t know where to start. So a few things I do know:
– I used to love mystery and horror books as a child. (And everything about witches)
– I was never really able to keep my attention to fantasy books and never really tried reading them, except for Harry Potter which i love. I do really like fantasy movies/series.
– I do really love a good romantic arc, as I have been reading a lot of fanfiction over the years.
– I really like true crime, and have read some true crime books, which I also want to read more of, but that’s not what I’m looking for when trying to relax after work.
Any tips on books or reading in general are welcome! Also please give tips on keeping focussed while reading. I have trouble staying motivated when not being able to see my progress (so when reading on a screen (I don’t have a kindle so read on my phone)), but my local library barely has anything in stock and I can’t wait weeks for a book to arive since I will have lost my attention/motivation by then.
Tl;dr: haven’t read many books in years, but don’t know what books to pick (I liked horror books and maybe fantasy??) And how do I keep my attention when reading on a screen, instead of a physical book.
