You ever find a book so good, it nearly ruins all other books? Annihilation was that for me.
I absolutely adore the unreliable narrator, complex characters, first-person journal perspective, biologically-driven story beats, woodsy-environment, existential horror and unsolved mysteries of Annihilation. I absolutely couldn’t put it down. The whole book itself was absolutely mind-blowing, I felt extremely immersed in the universe and insanely in-touch with the protagonist. But I haven’t found anything that’s really hooked me in the same way since.
I’m also a huge fan of:
    Lovecraftian horror
    Female protags
    Wilderness/woodland settings
    Good romantic subplots
    Character study/development

    Thank you so much!!
