My mum’s in hospital and needs some good books. She used to be an English teacher so pretty widely read but reads anything these days to pass the time. Recent likes include Where the Crawdad’s Sing, Heaven and Earth Grocery Store, and some Barbara Kingsolver books (didn’t mind Demon Copperhead). William Golding, Steinbeck et al were once go to authors but now her Kindle algorithm is just middle-of-the-road chic lit and she could do with some help to get out of a rut. Thanks

Time travel with a bit of a romance (but nothing spicy). Got this for my dad when he was in hospital he loved it, he passed it to my mom, and now it’s making its way through both of their friend groups.
