Things more niche and high quality, if possible. I’m buying gifts for a 16yr old brother of mine—he’s a lot more emotionally and intellectually mature than his peers.
He loves all things fantasy, specifically with mixes of medieval-style, magical/folklore themes, horror/unsettling elements, and sci-fi/post-apocalyptic influences. They can be structurally unconventional also, like graphic novels or mangas.
**Below are his favourite books so far (Mordew his ultimate I think):**
– The Rangers Apprentice
– Mordew
– The Time Machine
– The Lies of Locke Lamora
**Below are some books he’s been thinking of getting but unsure about (Mischief Acts being his favourite so far):**
– Mischief Acts (Zoe Gilbert)
– City of Last Chances (Adrian Tchaikovsky)
– Half a King (Shattered Sea) (Joe Abercrombie)
If you guys can help me out before Halloween I’d really appreciate it; I’m not a huge reader myself, but absolutely love that he enjoys reading. It’s virtually all he does besides schoolwork. Thanks!
