Hey all, I need a book that begins with the letter E that’s under 300 pages long. ~200 is preferable!
I’m doing an alphabetical reading challenge and have realised that I’m running out of time to finish my book beginning in E. I’m a slow reader, so I’m not going to finish East of Eden in time. Please suggest something to take its place – I’m happy with any genre!

Some of the shortest books I’ve recently read that start with E:
– Evidence of the Affair by Taylor Jenkins Reid
– The Empress of Salt and Fortune by Nghi Vo
– Elena Knows by Claudia Piñeiro
Emma
the elephant vanishes
extremely loud and incredibly close
Elatsoe by Darcie Little Badger
Even as We Breathe by Annette Saunooke Clapsaddle
Ethan Frome by Edith Wharton
Eggs by Jerry Spinelli. Middle grade novel, so will go very fast for an adult.
Einstein’s Dreams
Evil Under the Sun – Agatha Christie. Its a Hercule Poirot novel and a pretty quick read — might fit the bill?
Elsewhere by Gabrielle Zevin is a great book that’s a quick read. (Published years before Tomorrow Tomorrow and Tomorrow but through be told, I like her writing style in Elsewhere better – it’s a little more straight forward.)
Huh. Eligible by Curtis Sittenfeld is 528 pages.
Enchantress of Numbers by Jennifer Chiaverini is 448 pages…
Eva Luna by Isabel Allende is is 368 pages, but I can’t remember if I actually liked that book.
The Ex Talk by Rachel Lynn Solomon is not my favorite of her works, but it’s 352 pages.
The Ex Hex by Erin Sterling is 320 pages.
The Earl on the Train by Kerrigan Brynn is only 122 pages! I gave that one three stars, probably b/c I didn’t remember the characters from any of the other books in the series, despite having read the rest of the series.
Electric Idol by Katee Robert is 384 pages and that’s basically porn.
I’m not even going to look up how many pages Evicted by Matthew Desmond is, b/c it’s a heavy read regardless of page count.
Every Last Secret by A.R. Torre
I think it may be on Kindle Unlimited too still if you have that!
{{Euphoria by Lily King}} fits the bill at 256 pages. This is literary-historical fiction about anthropologists in the 1930s, inspired by Margaret Mead. Highly recommend it!
I second Ethan Frome
Everything Falls Apart by Chinua Achebe.
