I’m looking or expand my knowledge about European history between medieval time and 20th century. So I’m looking for a book and or books that would cover this gap of time. (IE the stuff the US public school system doesn’t teach you).

for the medieval end of that very eventful timespan, *the history of the medieval world* by susan wise bauer is a good overview for laypeople
The period between the middle ages and the French Revolution (1450-1789) is usually referred to as the ‘Early Modern’ period.
*Early modern Europe, 1450-1789* by Merry Wiesner is a good general textbook.

For the period from the French Revolution to the First World War, you can search for the ‘long 19th century’.
