Hello, I’m searching for books where the protagonist endures pain or suffering inflicted by others, akin to what Guts experiences in Berserk. The story doesn’t have to mirror Berserk, but I’m interested in themes of betrayal, intense suffering, and any form of pain caused by another character. The story should follow them as they cope and heal from their traumas, growing stronger. I’m especially interested in narratives where this path of healing involves interactions with unique characters (or love interests) that shape the protagonist’s development.
I’m not tied to any specific genre, so all recommendations are welcome.
