I am currently looking for books that focus on the relationship between mentor and student. It doesn’t matter what the student learns or whether they learn anything at all. The genre doesn’t really matter either. I just want that trope.
I rather like male mcs. And I don’t want any !!! romance between mentor and apprentice, but a friendly or familial relationship. I also prefer more strict mentors and even if the apprentice is a little brat at first. But that’s a plus.
I think the relationship in “Good Will Hunting” is perfect, and I love “In your hands”. But unfortunately these are films, not books.
There are many threads here on the subject, but most of them are a few years old so I just had to ask again.
